Cable lugs with shear bolts are available for aluminum or copper conductors, both solid and stranded – round or scalloped.
Before inserting the conductor into a cable lug with shear bolts, the insulation of the conductor must be removed. Use a suitable wrench to tighten the bolts until their heads snap off. The tightening force in Nm is marked on the body of the lug. Cable lugs with shear bolts have a wide range of applications due to the wide range of conductors that can be used.
The lugs are for single use only. The lug body is made of corrosion-resistant high-strength AlMgSi aluminum alloy, and the surface is additionally protected by a tin plating process.
The lugs are filled with electrical contact grease inside and sealed with protective plugs. The inside of the lugs are toothed to ensure better contact.
